World car show Brussels 2014

Hey everybody,

Guess what,
I went to a automotive car show in Brussels! There were of course lots of people there
but what struck me was that some stands were much smaller than previous years.
For example, Mercedes and Ford normaly have complety seperate wing for themselves
but now this was not the case. Guess there is a bit of a crisis in the automotive sector.

The colour on this Volante is very sublime!

These are some special models from Suzuki. They run completely organic ;)

 Some of the cars i assume you are already familiar with but others were new to me.
The Peugeot concept is the most striking concept i've seen on th car show.
The rest was not all that new and was predictable. No real sense of magic like there used to be.

The greatest underdog

Hi fellow reader's,


There is a guitar player that every enthusiast should be acquainted with. His name is Danny Gatton.
The player is know for his fast licks and the feel he puts in his music.
He is one of the Ultimate Underdogs if it comes to Guitarist.  There was possibility
for him to break trough to bigger audiences but never really got there.
He is an incredible inspiration for my personal playing. Unfortunately Danny Gatton is not
among us anymore. One of my personal favorites is his version of  Sleepwalk. Look the video up
and you will know what a mean. His main guitar is a Fender Telecaster. Fender built Danny his custom Fender Telecaster.

Design like no other

Zagato is wel known for his own creations with a typical design.
The design company that started in 1919 has made several of his own creations with
existing cars.
One of his best designs in my personal opinion is the Aston Martin V12 by Zagato.
I took some pictures at an automotive show. This is the race spec version.
The road version is also very well designed.

Current Guitar

Now let me show you the current guitar I'm using.
Its a Fender strat aerodyne.  The 2005 version without a pick guard. Japanese made.
Plays beautifully. It has a very thin neck. So good for fast licks.
Together with the basswood body its sounds less crisp then a normal strat. Bought it for
900 euro's in Belgium.

Its features are:

1. old style tuning pegs
2. standard single coil pickups
3. Basswood Body 
4. standard 2005 bridge with whammy bar
5. 5 way switch

It has a slim body like the Ibanez S series

First Car

This a blog about cars and guitars obviously.  So first let me show you the first car i owned.

Its now from my brother. A VW SCIROCCO of 1986. Model 1.8 GTX 8V.
Originally my brother bought it from our local car dealer. He bought it for 1500 euro's.
It was in fairly good condition. Then he sold it to me.
I got it completely repainted in its original color.  No no more corrosion anymore.
The repaint was 1800 euro's.

Then everything was looking good until one day we went to stall the car in a garage and
the engine gave up.
Now its stalled somewhere and when there is time we'll look for a new engine.
Photos of the paint job will follow later.

First Blog!

Hello everyone,

This is my first blog so its a bit of a search in how this works.

First let me introduce myself.
My name is Kevin and i am 29 years of age. I was born and raised in Belgium. My hobby's are music, cars, gaming and going out. I also have a great interest in culture.

My passions

The reason why this blog is created is because i would love to share  my passion for cars and
guitars with you. I'm really looking forward to this and please don't be shy to respond with
 your thoughts and idea's on certain topics.

 Cars

The passion for cars started when i was 2 or 3 years. At my first house, i used to sit down at the front porch just to watch cars go by all day long. I found it fascinating somehow. The first toy i got was
a car. It is in the family.
My grandmother had a VW garage and grew up there. She started driving cars when she was 14.
At 16 she used to drive new cars to the cmr's themselves. If i had the money i would have become
a racing driver for certain. But carting can be fun to and is cheaper ;).
So this a small introduction of how my passion for cars started.

Guitars

My passion for music started later on. I started playing guitar only when i was 18 years.
But my passion for music has been given to me by my mother. She used to lend me he lp's
so i could make mix tapes. Her music was from the 70's and 80's. Al this great music lying
in front of me begging to be discovered. Later on i got into metal and then i decided to by a
guitar. Since then i wanted to be able to play anything. Started practicing and practicing.
Found out about all this guitar players and the guitars my hero's used.
And now here i am ready to share my thoughts with you.
